Vice President People & Sustainability – Underground Division

In this role as VP of People and Sustainability, you will be responsible for leading the overall Human Resources and SHEQ function in the division. Your key tasks include identifying and fostering the development of key talents, recognizing, and scouting for the current and future key competencies needed by the division to secure success, developing and implementing People & Sustainability strategies, and taking the lead in building a proactive and highly efficient 'can do' culture and actions across the division in line with business needs and the ambitious growth strategy.

Furthermore, you will actively contribute to managing and supporting Customer Centers in Southern and East and Central Africa, as well as UMR Product Companies and Division from a People & Planet perspective.

Reporting to the President of UMR and as a member of the divisional management team, you will be directly responsible for a small team of dedicated human resource and SHEQ professionals. You will also actively work with all divisional functions and entities, serving as an expert on people, leadership, and SHEQ, and assisting managers at different levels in the organization. In this role, you will also have a functional dotted line to Human Resources Managers in administrative companies managed by UMR. International travel is an important aspect of this role.

As one of the key members of the UMR team, you will be the overall owner of how we recruit, manage, develop, compensate, and promote people in our division. You will also oversee the division's sustainability agenda, with a specific focus on safety and environmental development. Furthermore, together with the rest of the Divisional leadership team, you will take the lead in developing the next generation of dynamic leaders who actively drive improvements through enthusiastic, courageous, and proactive leadership practices.

In this role, your key responsibilities will be to:

Collaborate with the Division President and divisional management team to drive business strategy, change management, and foster a proactive mindset. Lead and provide expertise across People and Sustainability functions, encompassing Safety Leadership, Sustainability Initiatives and Reporting, Employer Branding, People Management, Performance Management, Workforce Planning, Diversity & Inclusion, Organizational Change and Development, Leadership & Employee Development, International Assignments, Compensation Planning, and Internal Communication.

Develop the talent pipeline and support our employees' growth and development.

Serve as a strategic partner, aligning people and planet strategies with business objectives.

Foster a courageous divisional culture grounded in pro-activeness, transparency, collaboration, results, teamwork, and a lasting legacy.

Drive competence development and learning initiatives within the division.

Actively contribute to the development and implementation of Epiroc's People & Leadership strategies across the business area.

Play an active role in merger and acquisitions and the integration of new companies.

Participate in HR and Sustainability cross-business initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness, simplify HR and SHEQ processes, and deliver service excellence.

Manage HR and SHEQ administrative functions.

Ensure understanding and adherence to all relevant sustainability goals, including high-quality reporting and continuous improvements.

Safeguard that everyone in the organization respects and upholds Epiroc's values and culture.

Experience and requirements:

Broad business experience, including leading Human Resources and Sustainability functions to achieve tangible business results as part of a management team. Proven experience in leading change, cultivating culture, and engaging with various organizational levels.

Strong international mindset and experience, gained from living and working abroad or developing extensive international business relationships.

University degree in disciplines related to Human Resources, Organizational Management, International Management, or similar fields.

Fluency in written and spoken English. Proficiency in other international languages is advantageous.
